About

Ginny Lindgren, LMHC-A
Ginny started as a special education teacher in public schools, where her focus was working with children diagnosed with cognitive and behavioral challenges. Working with children was rewarding, but she quickly learned that she was better suited to support their social-emotional needs outside of the classroom. As such, she pivoted and pursued a career in clinical mental health counseling and earned her CMHC from Rhode Island College.
Ginny is most influenced by client-centered, acceptance, and commitment therapy approaches. As a result, she focuses on the “here and now” while helping to investigate and support behavior change from the lens of value-based work. She works with adolescents, transitional age youth, adults, and couples.
Of particular interest to Ginny is the intersectionality between privilege and marginalization. This has been at the center of her professional and personal identity for years. Being a life-long learner, she is always learning new ways to navigate complex terrains as transgender woman. If this is something you'd like to work on and/or think that Ginny may be a good fit for you, reach out!
