About

Jhemmy Mejia, MA
Jhemmy is a bilingual, pre-licensed mental health clinician who earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in holistic practices from Salve Regina University. Her clinical work is grounded in authenticity, cultural humility, and relational presence—reflecting our practice’s commitment to whole-person, integrative care.
Before transitioning into the mental health field, Jhemmy cultivated a strong foundation in business leadership by operating her own driving school. While she found success in that work, her deeper calling to support and connect with others led her to community mental health, where she has since worked with individuals across the lifespan. Her clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, transitional-age youth, adults, and families, with a particular focus on supporting individuals within underserved and marginalized communities.
Jhemmy offers developmentally responsive care for individuals ages 12 through 70, tailoring her approach to meet clients where they are across different life stages. She integrates evidence-based interventions with person-centered therapy, drawing from interpersonal, psychodynamic, and attachment-based frameworks. Jhemmy also incorporates creative and nature-based approaches, such as ecotherapy, to support healing through reconnection with self, others, and the natural world.
Her areas of focus include anxiety, depression, mood dysregulation, life transitions, cultural identity exploration, and recovery from complex trauma and PTSD. She is particularly attuned to the impact of intergenerational trauma, systemic stressors, and identity-based challenges, and works collaboratively with clients to foster resilience, emotional insight, and self-empowerment.
Clients working with Jhemmy can expect a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where lived experience is honored and personal growth is supported. She brings a deep respect for the unique stories that shape each individual and is committed to helping clients reconnect with their values, strengths, and sense of purpose.
Jhemmy is fluent in both English and Spanish. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys spending time in nature, exploring global cuisines, traveling, and nurturing her connection to animals. She holds a strong belief in the importance of self-care and often reminds others, “You must fill your own cup before pouring into others.”
