Miranda Jacobs, LMHC, is a bilingual, Spanish-speaking Licensed Mental Health Counselor who earned her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Forensic Mental Health from William James College. Prior to joining Berin Psych, Inc., Miranda spent five years working in community mental health, providing in-home and outpatient services to individuals across the lifespan, from early childhood through older adulthood, within complex and multi-stressed systems.

 

Miranda specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults navigating Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, complex trauma, dissociative disorders, and LGBTQIA+ identities. She also provides parent consultation and support to address behavioral, emotional, and relational challenges associated with neurodevelopmental differences. Additionally, Miranda works from a sex-positive and affirming lens and welcomes individuals within the LGBTQIA+, polyamorous, and KINK communities.

 

Miranda's approach is rooted in person-centered, humanistic, and relational principles. She believes that clients are the experts in their own lives and works collaboratively to foster insight, build coping skills, strengthen distress tolerance, and support meaningful change. Clients working with Miranda can expect honesty, transparency, mutual respect, and a therapeutic environment grounded in safety and authenticity. Known for her warm, direct style and occasional dry humor, Miranda balances compassion with accountability while honoring each client's unique journey and pace of growth.

 

As a member of both the queer and Autistic communities, Miranda brings lived experience that enhances her understanding of neurodivergence, identity development, and navigating systems from perspectives outside the neurotypical experience.
